What We Do

West Sacramento Parks & Recreation consists of four separate functions: a Parks Division, Recreation Division, Early Learning Services, and our Tree Program. The Parks Department provides recreation and leisure opportunities with its park facilities and recreation programming. These programs are designed to help local residents improve their overall health and quality of life.

This festive, family-friendly event that welcomes athletes of all levels to participate in various race formats designed to offer something for everyone.

Café Yolo - West Sacramento

Providing a meal and socializing time for Seniors Ages 60+

Beginning July 31st, 2024, Meals on Wheels Yolo County launched Café Yolo, aCafeYolo_MoW (2) social dining experience for seniors age 60+ to meet and socialize every Wednesday at the West Sacramento Community Center.
Share stories, laughter, and experiences with other local seniors, developing new community connections!

Parking & Transportation

Via Rideshare FREE Via trips to from the Community Center 10am-1pm on Wednesdays. Sign up for Via today and take advantage of this no-cost trip sponsored by the City of West Sacramento.

Via Rideshare is provides rides through the City for an affordable, flat fare. Request a ride when you're ready by using a Smartphone App or by calling over the phone. For more information, please visit the Via webpage.

Bus
The Transit Center is located directly on the Community Center property for convenient access to bus patrons of the Yolo County Transportation District . The Sacramento Regional Transit District also provides a public transit connection between West Sacramento and Downtown Sacramento.

Parking There is limited street parking along West Capitol Ave.  There is a Community Center parking lot behind the building. Turn onto Merkley Ave, then turn into the parking lot entrance at the Arthur F. Turner Yolo County Library. Continue straight  through the parking lot and the Community Center parking is to the right. Guests are also welcome to park at City Hall parking lots and cross the street. Please use crosswalks and enter the building from the Community Center parking lot area.
